We traveled from Dakar to Kaffrine for a two-day visit. One of the highlights of our trip was time out in one of the villages where our team members are working, and here are a few of my favorite photos from that visit. Here’s the link to my facebook album as well.
We enjoyed an afternoon at the beach today. It’s gotten quite hot, and the ocean is a cool and refreshing place to relax! I enjoyed the sights of various ships, and the view of Goree Island in the distance! (And the decorative crane on the beach as well! )
My life for these past few days been consumed with helping the juniors prepare for the Junior-Senior Banquet! It went very well and we were very happy with everything… but are very tired now! Here’s a link to my photos on facebook if you’d like to look at them…
A lot of my pictures lately have been taken on the soccer (FOOTBALL) field. There are a lot of students we’ve gotten to know well this year, and a number of them are soccer players. I’ve enjoyed watching the games to see how they are doing… and finding myself with some fun pictures as a result!
** note that everywhere in the world except the U.S., soccer is known as football! I’d just gotten used to calling it football while living in Liberia and Cote d’Ivoire, and now finding that at Dakar Academy, it’s called soccer again! I’m confused. :0
